Weston-super-Mare based Insight Data Ltd, the award winning supplier of business data and online software, has launched an innovative new online portal for the construction industry.
The Insight Index is a detailed product finder and business directory wrapped up in a fully-fledged search engine. It aims to help buyers and specifiers in the building products industry find new suppliers, source products and research information from both UK based companies and international suppliers who supply into the UK.
Helen Costeloe-Hughes, director at Insight Data, commented: “We have been researching and building databases for the UK window, door, conservatory, and building products industry since 2006, helping suppliers find new buyers for their products. The Insight Index is a reverse-engineering of this business model and helps buyers find new suppliers and products.”
The Insight Index has been developed over the last year and since its launch on 5th January over 300 suppliers are already listed, including well known suppliers such as Yale door locks and international companies such as the German based Technoform Glass Insulations. To raise awareness of the Insight Index the company has invested over £100,000 in a high profile marketing campaign promoting the Index across the entire construction industry using a cute character called ‘Dex’.
Insight Data Ltd is part of the Ascot Group owned by businessman Andrew Scott. The company has continued to buck the economic trend and grown from 4 staff in 2008 to 21 today, with plans to expand to 40 staff by 2015. It has twice picked up the Enterprise Agency Business of the Year Awards.
