Puxton Park has reported that a record number of people have visited the attraction this year.

The venue celebrated its fifth birthday back in July and Alistair Mead, who is Managing Director of Puxton Park, is delighted with the news:

“We are thrilled to have welcomed so many families to Puxton Park this year making it our busiest year in the five years that we have been trading.

“Recently we had more than 3,500 people come to the park on one day alone to see all the new attractions that we have added this year, which is the most number of visitors we have ever experienced in one day.

“It shows that people are keen to come along and see how we have grown the business since we first opened and all the new attractions we have added.

“We would like to thank all our customers for the support they have shown to us this year and promise to continue investing at Puxton Park in order to maintain our position as one of the top attractions in the South West.”

One of the most popular adventure parks in the South West is continuing to invest by adding new major attractions this summer.

Puxton Park, in Hewish, near Weston-super-Mare, will be launching a new Adrenalin Zone, and Puxton Little Farmers Zone, to mark its fifth birthday weekend, on July 7 and 8.

The new Adrenalin Zone will include a hexagonal swing holding several children at once, a tyre swing and a rope bumper swing, whereby children sit on a swinging log.

Puxton Little Farmers is a new toddlers area for children under six and will include two bird nest swings, Porkie The Pig Rocker, Daisy The Cow Rocker, Roger The Ram Rocker and Tommy The Tractor.

Alistair Mead, Puxton Park Owner, said: “To mark our successful first five years we are once again reinvesting at Puxton Park by adding even more attractions. Last year we added a new boating lake, JCB Dig & Play and a Zip Wire and this summer we are launching a new Adrenaline Zone and Puxton Little Farmers.

“We want our visitors to experience good value for money so we are keen to add as many attractions as possible. We will continue this investment in the future to maintain our place as one of the most popular attractions in the South West.”

Heroes Welcome, a nationwide initiative adopted by more than 50 UK cities and towns, aims to show support to our serving or veteran servicemen and women.

The Weston scheme, which was the first to launch in the South West, asks for businesses to give a warm welcome, special acknowledgement or discount to all force’s personnel.

Participants join for free, can offer a discount or benefit of their choice and show their support by putting up a Heroes Welcome sticker on their premises.

Puxton Park, in Hewish, says it is delighted to be on board offering extra hospitality and a 50 per cent discount to force personnel and their families.

Alistair Mead, managing director of Puxton, said: “Joining Heroes Welcome Weston helps to remind our heroes that they are indeed very welcome at Puxton Park.

“Weston is one of the main recruitment areas for 40 Commando therefore we should show our support to the armed forces personnel living in our area.

“By signing up to the scheme we are demonstrating our overriding gratitude to all these servicemen and women who put their life on the line nearly every day for our country.”

The 50 per cent discount is available at Puxton Park on production of a valid service photo ID or veterans badge and is available for up to two adults and three children per visit.

Cllr Philip Judd, Weston Heroes Co-ordinator, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have Puxton Park on board and obviously we are always looking for more companies locally to get involved in this extremely worthwhile scheme.”

Farmer Wants a Wife for Valentine’s Day

Puxton Park Farmer Wants a Wife for Valentines DayOne of the South West’s most popular adventure parks is to host its first ever Farmer Wants a Wife event to coincide with Valentine’s Day.

Puxton Park, in Hewish, is to stage the event following the success of ITV reality show Farmer Wants a Wife, whereby contestants hoped to be chosen by one bachelor farmer.

The Somerset adventure park will offer its own take on the show by giving discounted entry to children dressed as farmers or those wearing party dresses for Valentine’s Day.

Discounted entry, at £4 per child with a paying adult, is only into the park during the day, as there will be a disco between 6pm-8pm, hosted by Guinness World Record Holder, DJ Jack Hill, 11, of Weston.

Tickets for the disco must be bought in advance with entry charged £3 per child for members, £4 per child for non-members and all children must be supervised.

Alistair Mead, managing director of Puxton, said: “Farmer wants a wife was a huge hit with spin offs created in numerous countries across Europe, as well as Australia and the US.

“We thought it would be fun to offer our own take on it by hosting a fun Farmer Wants a Wife disco for children and who better to host it than talented DJ Jack Hill.

“Puxton is all about connecting more people with farming and what better way than to encourage the children to come dressed as farmers for a party.

“Some schools are cracking down on Valentine’s Day by not allowing children to send cards, so we want children to come and enjoy the day with us.

“Our Halloween disco is always a huge hit with the youngsters so we anticipate huge crowds to turn out and have a fun Valentine’s Day during half term week.”
